AUSTIN SHAY, M.A.

Artistic Director

Austin Shay is an IT professional. He has previously directed two Pharmacy Theatre Productions in cooperation with  Penn State Harrisburg’s Capital Players, Hamletmachine and Falling in Love With Your GBF. He received his B.Hum. in English from Penn State Harrisburg in 2017 and received his MA in Interdisciplinary Humanities with a focus on Creative Writing and Theatre. He is currently the Executive Director of The Paragon Press.

ALEX SAUER

Marketing Manager/Resident Playwright

Alex Sauer loves writing poems, stories, and plays and hopes one day she will be a New York Time Bestseller (Don’t worry it’s in the works!) Alex graduated from Franklin and Marshall College as a History and Spanish major in 2015 and graduated from Milton Hershey School in 2011.

ALEXANDER D. OWENS

Digital Media/Social Media Specialist 

Alex Owens is a sophomore at Penn State Harrisburg. He recently played the role of Lee in Penn State Harrisburg’s production of Falling in Love With Your GBF as well as Miles in Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters. A few of his favorite roles are Black Stache in Peter and the Starcatcher and The Cat in the Hat in Seussical.

Literary Manager

Kelleigh Stevenson is a sophomore majoring in English-Creative Writing with a Theatre minor. Kelleigh played Lana in Penn State Harrisburg's Falling in Love with Your GBF and Evil Gabby in Qui Nguyen's She Kills Monsters.

JOSH GERST, M.A.

Analytical Director

Josh Gerst recently graduated with a Master of Arts in Humanities with a trans-disciplinary focus in Phenomenology, Linguistics, and Sci-fi Screenwriting. Every morning Josh is lecturing English at Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology from Penn State Harrisburg. He is an experienced actor, painter, photographer, poet-cook-outdoorsman-carpenter-musician. Whether writing about and exploring existentialism or directing the Jazz Ensemble at PSH, Josh is always busy. Recent roles: Medical Patient (Aaron Schimberg’s 2018 film CHAINED FOR LIFE), Dramaturgical Designer (BLOODY, BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON), Uncle Ben (Miller’s, DEATH OF A SALESMAN), Brian (Lopez and Marx’s, AVENUE Q), Robert (David Auburn’s, PROOF), Roy Cohn (Tony Kushner’s, ANGELS IN AMERICA).

SARA STEVENSON, M.A.

Resident Dramaturg

Sara Stevenson drinks copious amounts of coffee in order to keep up with her three children. She received her B.Hum in English and and her B.Hum in Interdisciplinary 

Humanities from Penn State Harrisburg in 2017, and she received her Master of Arts in Humanities from Penn State Harrisburg in 2018. While she plans to attend graduate school to get her PhD in the future, she is looking forward to time off where she can spend time with her children and work on writing her next book.

Independent Consultant 

Alana was homeschooled until 5th grade when she started to attend Lower Dauphin High School (Class of 2016). She worked as a backstage technician for HCPAC Productions for seven years. She is now employed as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, but in her free time she likes to paint, draw, read, and watch shows. But most of all, she loves ramen!

Audio/Lighting Designer

Tessa Arnold is an IST major at Penn State Harrisburg. She is involved in theatre on campus and around the community whether that be back stage or on stage! Her last roles were Logainne Schwartzandgrubenire in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee and Ella in Falling in Love With Your GBF
